Chronicles of Merlin Review

Chronicles of Merlin is a new free to play, browser based MMO released by KoramGame. The background story for this game is Merlin, from the Arthurian Legends, has created a rift in time, bringing greatest European heroes of both fact and fiction for you to battle against and use yourself. These heroes vary from Vlad the Impaler to Robin Hood. It can be played here.

The game play is very smooth as it transitions through the different aspects, from castle building, to PVE and PVP battles. The battles consist of heroes going head to head in which is much like the game of Chess. Players strengthen their heroes by means of training, gear, research, formations, and other methods. It requires the perfect combination to defeat your opponents, who have certain combinations of their own.

Besides running around defeating these heroes and using them for yourself, players can join alliances and participate in not only battles between alliances, but also server wide Mine Wars and city-taking regional wars. Regional wars are based on your Kingdom, in which you have 3 to choose from: Caesar, Arthur, and Charlemagne. Each comes with unique cities and unique Heroes.

The game also has a lot of extra features, including the King System, where the strongest players are picked every 4 days to become King and protect their Kingdom against top players of the other Kingdoms. They also wield the power to appoint nobles with many benefits themselves. In addition there is a monthly Battle Report Competition where players show off their battles and vote for their favorites. Perhaps what sets this game apart is the pace at which is moving. We have already seen a lot of additions to the game in the short time that it has been out. It is a refreshing change to the current F2P Browser Based Games out there.
